The Hear and Say Microtia and Atresia Program
Our Microtia and Atresia Program is one of our many initiatives to support families of children with a hearing loss. Our program aims to provide information, resources and support to the families of children with Microtia and Atresia.
Parent information and support evenings are held 5-6 times per year. This gives families the opportunity to meet other families who also have children with Microtia and Atresia. Families can share experiences and support each other, while also being educated on these conditions and hearing from a variety of guest speakers.
We also host a
Microtia and Atresia Parent Conference every year. The conference provides patients and families with information on options for treatment, management and repair of microtia and atresia. We have local, national and international guest speakers, all of whom are considered experts in their fields.
At the conference you can learn from a range of clincial and medical experts about:
- Hear and Say Service and Programs
- Reconstruction options
- Hearing aid options
- Assistive learning devices
- Genetics
- Surgical options
- Speech & Language
- Classroom strategies
- Current research
