Interview and Enrolment Process

The following is the usual procedure which is followed from the time a family contacts Hear and Say:

  1. Enquiry taken. Initial contact form completed and details held at the Centre
  2. Appointment made for the family to attend one of our Hear and Say Centres for an initial interview
  3. Initial interview conducted at the Brisbane Hear and Say Centre whenever possible. No decisions about choice of program is made at this meeting. Family is advised/encouraged to visit other Early Intervention Programs before making any decisions
  4. Family to contact Hear and Say to advise if a place for their child is required
  5. Phone contact from Hear and Say with an Offer/Waiting List or Non-Acceptance (as appropriate and based on circumstances)
  6. Parent applications for Admission and Permissions are issued. Please note: enrolment in the program is subject to receipt of all necessary documentation
  7. And appointment is scheduled for the first Auditory-Verbal Therapy session. Medical Referral must be provided prior to or at this first session

Families transferring from another program

A family requesting a transfer from another program is required to produce a transfer letter from the program they have departed. Should this not be forthcoming, the Clinical Director will contact the previous centre and request such documentation.
